Uwe Beckmeyer, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and Federal Government Maritime Coordinator, is leaving Germany on 14 May to take a delegation of around 20 business representatives to Sri Lanka and Indonesia.
State Secretary Beckmeyer said: "I am impressed by the sense of a new start in Sri Lanka and Indonesia and the possibilities that the region offers to German firms. Seeing things at first hand is often a crucial prerequisite for successful business. German companies are active in both countries and enjoy an outstanding reputation, with some of them doing business there for decades. We want to build on this."
In Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, talks with high-level government representatives will be flanked by a Sri Lanka-Germany business forum, B2B meetings and visits to companies. In Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, the plans also include the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of energy.
