Press release 139 / 2016-04-20: Spending on womens wear still twice as high as on mens wear
WIESBADEN - On average, households in Germany spent 528 euros on womens clothing in 2014. This was nearly twice as much as spent on mens clothing (276 euros). The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this ratio of womens to mens wear expenditure has remained almost unchanged for many years. An average of 84 euros was spent on childrens wear in 2014.
